FC2 is a safe and effective hormone-free birth control option that is used worldwide and can be prescribed to individuals with most health insurance for $0 out of pocket in the USA.

  • FC2 works by being inserted into the vagina before sex. It holds the man’s sperm after ejaculation, thus helping prevent unintended pregnancy. It also acts as a barrier to sexually transmitted infections (STIs), including HIV.

  • Over 20 years of studies have shown the internal condom is an effective barrier against many common STIs, including HIV. In FDA safety & efficacy studies, FC2 was found 95% effective as a barrier contraceptive.

  • FC2 is an over-the-counter female contraceptive that can be prescribed with no out-of-pocket expense, per the Affordable Care Act.

  • Yes: FC2 can be used with the pill, injections, IUD contraceptives, post-sterilization and post-vasectomy to protect against STIs, including HIV.

    No: FC2 cannot be used with the diaphragm, cervical cap, sponge or vaginal ring, as the inner ring of FC2 fits into the same place at the cervix.
